HODGSON APOLOGIZE DEFEAT NORTHAMPTON

From time to lead the team next summer hours, Mr. Hodgson is still difficult for Liverpool.

Liverpool coach Roy Hodgson said sorry 4-2 defeat in the Carling Cup prize after shootout before Northampton and called it "one big setbacks."

Red team, which had in hand five points after five matches in the Premiership, the team lost the League Two table after the 2-2 draw at the time.

He said: "We have first class competitor in the tournament. No matter what happened, did not win is very bad."

"It was a setback for the club, one of many steps to go down that we are facing at this time."

Mr Hodgson Rafael Benitez replaced him in the position coach at Anfield last summer, but so far the team is struggling with unimpressive start in the Premier League.

He said: "I always knew that it was a difficult job, that's not good start, but football is like that. I'm disappointed, disappointed that I would have thought we could play better .

After a 3-2 defeat to Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday, Mr Hodgson had some lineup changes, but said the players selected to play well enough to lower the lowest ranked team in the tournament.

He said: "It is the players are put on the club, some very expensive and very popular. Maybe they do not know enough and clear as I see it is they themselves have not done enough to prove themselves. "

"Bitterness disappointed"

"When we have one team with the players being bought with a price, then the players will have the opportunity to show he is good player. Unfortunately, we were not strong enough to take down a Northampton."

Mr Hodgson said last only 15 minutes extra time, after being ahead 2-1, the new team showed some fighting spirit.

I accept responsibility for the've changed so many players in the squad. I do really think so because the players that I brought to play good enough to win, but they did not do that.

HLV Liverpool Roy Hodgson

He said: "All I can do is apologize and congratulate the people of Northampton. The fans have been waiting for a win and I hope that we will win, but that turned out not So. "

"The players in the team must take responsibility. I take responsibility for work has changed so many players in the squad. I really think so because the players that I brought to play good enough to win win, but they did not do that. "

"The conclusion is obvious perhaps I should not have changed many players but we should have enough to win."

"All of us must take responsibility. I'm just bitterly disappointed that the team that I put much faith do not reciprocate that trust, but only a couple of times they play good football."

There's little doubt about what comes after Milan Jovanovic put Liverpool ahead in the first 10 minutes.

But to discuss the phase of Billy McKay and Michael Jacobs has made Northampton change the situation, before a single David Ngog equalized near the end of time at the end of injury time, prompting both sides to a draw in shootout .

From time to lead the team next summer hours, Mr. Hodgson is still difficult for Liverpool

In a statement, his representative said the allegations are "completely untrue, absolutely ridiculous and the magazine have been told is so clearly before publication."

ATLANTA

Two hundred and sixty-three weeks, and counting.

For more than five years of his career, Phil Mickelson’s been No. 2 in the world golf rankings.

It’s an astonishing feat -- more than double the number of weeks of the next man on the list, Nick Faldo -- and reminds me a lot of Marv Levy’s Buffalo Bills teams from the early '90s. They were roundly condemned as ‘Super Bowl Serial Killers’ after losing the big game four straight times, but what about the other side of the coin?

Was it not a colossal achievement just to have gotten to the last game of the year four consecutive years?

Or must history only remember the winners?

That the Bills lost those Super Bowls had much to do, too, with the caliber of the teams they faced, and that's been Mickelson's curse.

He’s had to contend in the Tiger Woods era.

Woods has spent 618 weeks of his career at No. 1. That’s almost 12 years. His current streak stands at 276 weeks.

But it’s true, too, that he’s been made to relinquish the crown.

Vijay Singh put Woods to the sword to take the world No. 1 away from him in 2005. Greg Norman, David Duval and Ernie Els also reigned during the Woods era.

FOX SPORTS POLL

For the 12th time since he won the Masters in April, Mickelson will have a chance this week to unseat Woods, who for the first time in his professional career hasn’t qualified for a tournament and isn’t at the Tour Championship.

As the defending champion at East Lake, Mickelson needs to finish in no worse than a three-way tie for second to finally break through.

“I’d love to take advantage of the opportunity,” the Californian said Wednesday.

“I don’t follow the ranking points and so forth, but I know that I’ve had multiple opportunities for months, and I haven’t played well enough to do it. Hopefully, I do this week.”

But is he really hopeful of doing it this week?

I’ve long wondered if No. 1 is not just something Mickelson's equipped for, but if it's something he even wants.

Heavy lies the crown, to borrow from Jack Nicholson's mangled Shakespeare in "The Departed."

Beyond the responsibilities that go with No. 1, the truth is that Mickelson's just never been consistent enough as a player to stay at the top even if he gets there.

He’s a high-wire act, either breathtakingly brilliant or a train wreck ... and rarely in between.

This year he’s ranked 110th in ball-striking on the PGA Tour, in large part because he doesn’t hit many fairways, and is 118th in greens hit in regulation.

Yet he’s seventh in scoring average, which speaks to just how good his best golf is that it can offset the bad days.

It dawned on me listening to Mickelson at East Lake on Wednesday that he’s probably not as concerned about that No. 1 ranking as we think him to be.

Indeed, I got the distinct impression that he long ago achieved his goal for 2010.

BUY THE BOOK

Robert Lusetich's new book, "Unplayable: An Inside Account of Tiger's Most Tumultuous Season," is available for purchase here.

“The Masters kind of made the year for me,” he said of his fourth career major. “It meant a lot to us emotionally, it meant a lot to me personally.”

Mickelson’s wife, Amy, and his mother were both diagnosed with early stage breast cancer last year and, in that sense, the green jacket was a victory for the entire Mickelson family.

“I look back on the year, and it really comes down to that one event,” he said. “I mean, there were other events I played OK in, but, for me the year was kind of salvaged by that Masters win. That’s how much that tournament means to me.”

Mickelson was asked whether golf had been anticlimactic since April.

“I wouldn’t say that, but my performance certainly would lead you to believe it,” he said. “But I was excited about playing other events. I mean, I was really motivated and excited about the U.S. Open and the other majors, as well.

“But I wasn’t able to put together my best play.”

And maybe that’s Phil in a nutshell.

Maybe he’s content with the $50 million a year he pockets from sponsors and prize money; content with being a father and husband instead of a driven golfaholic.

Maybe he knows he’s 40 and that the psoriatic arthritis that’s been bothering him since June isn’t going to make golf any easier from here on out, and maybe he’s decided to focus on winning a few more big ones and not sweat the small stuff.

And maybe he’ll just smile and shrug if history calls him the best player never to have made it to

Tottenham showed character - Redknapp

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp praised the impact of substitutes Alan Hutton and Roman Pavlyuchenko as his side came from behind to win 3-1 against Wolves.

Full-back Hutton initially earned the penalty, which Rafael van der Vaart scored to cancel out Steven Fletcher's opener for the visitors.

Striker Pavlyuchenko gave Spurs a 2-1 lead with three minutes to go before Hutton added a third in injury time.

"Having a squad is what it is all about," said Redknapp.

"Younes [Kaboul] did a hamstring and Alan came on and had a fantastic second half.

"I thought Robbie [Keane] was lively and could have scored from a couple of good chances but Pav came off the bench, we didn't see him for 20 minutes and then suddenly the ball pops up to him in the box and he sticks it away."

It was a superb end to the game for Tottenham, who were in danger of losing their third successive game to Wolves and repeating the outcome of their last Premier League game, when they lost 1-0 at home to Wigan.

Wolves threw away victory - McCarthy

Fletcher's neat finish gave the visitors a surprise lead at the end of a first half the home side had dominated but been wasteful in front of goal.

They continued to press in the second half in the face of a committed display from Wolves and were ultimately rewarded.

"It shows a lot of character when you go behind to come back," stated Redknapp. "We came in at half time 1-0 down but I felt we had played well.

"I couldn't criticise them at half time. We just switched off for the goal but other than that we created plenty of chances but just couldn't stick one away.

"Wolves aren't easy to play against. They're organised, they work hard, Mick gets everything possibly out of his team and they make it difficult."

Tottenham handed home debuts to late summer signings Van der Vaart and William Gallas and Redknapp was pleased with their performances.

"William Gallas had a good home debut today and Rafa scored and had a good home debut as well," admitted Redknapp.

"Rafa is a top class player. I was comfortable with him taking the penalty and he stuck it away.

"William got a little bit of cramp last few minutes but he's looking for fitness as is Rafa, who played three games in a week and hasn't played since the World Cup.

606: DEBATE

We didn't play well particularly first hour or so, but we did enough to get the points and thats what matters

mightyspurs765

"We've got to be careful with them but they've come through ok today."

Wolves manager Mick McCarthy was pleased with his team's resilient performance but admitted that they had let Spurs "off the hook".

"We gave it away," said McCarthy. "We gave them the opportunity to get back in the game.

"The penalty let them back in and then we gave the ball away, they broke on us and they get a bit of luck with the deflection. The third goal makes us look badly, when we haven't.

"Of course they are going to create chances, they're a Champions League side, but Marcus [Hahnemann] has made a couple of world class saves in the first half.

"I was pleased with the display throughout the whole game, first half in particular. People will look at the result alone and assume Champions League Spurs have done us but that's not the case."

McCarthy has been vocal in his condemnation of the accusations that his side - who picked up 13 bookings and a red card in the two games prior to this, and three more at White Hart Lane - are overly aggressive and he once again denied such suggestions.

"I'm getting sick and tired of talking about tackles," said McCarthy. "We are a good footballing side and we played well today.

"Some of the coverage we have had has been unfair. But we cant do anything about it and it'll go somewhere else soon enough."

Focus now switches to the midweek Carling Cup third round fixtures, with Tottenham playing north London rivals Arsenal at White Hart Lane and Wolves come up against League One side Notts County at Molineux.

Redknapp admitted that he will be making changes to his side.

"We've got to be sensible," said Redknapp. "I've got a whole team of players who need to play football.

"They work hard every day, they're great lads and I need to see them play. There's [Brazilian midfielder] Sandro for example who has just joined us and I'm looking forward to giving him his debut

TRỞ VỀ MÁI TRƯỜNG XƯA

sau buoi dien
...”Về đây đứng dưới mái trường xưa
Như thấy mình trôi trong ngày cũ”.....
Lời Bài hát bỗng thoảng qua, da diết
Ta thẫn thờ, thơ thẩn chốn nơi xưa.

Dãy nhà
Xưa
Chỉ mái lá đơn sơ
Nhưng ấm bao tình
Bằng hữu.

Dãy hành lang
Xưa
Không sâu thẳm
Nhưng cũng đủ
Lấp lánh
Ánh mắt
Xưa.

Tất cả
Những kỷ niệm
xưa
Bỗng ùa về
Trong Ta
Giây lát.

Ta thẫn thờ
Bỡ ngỡ
Trước khung cảnh
Ngày xưa

Giờ đây
Những toà nhà
Cao tầng
Dãy hành lang
Sâu thẳm
Đã thay vào
Dãy nhà lá năm xưa.

Cái Sân
Xưa
Đất đỏ
Nay đã có
Lớp cỏ non
Xanh rờn

Chỉ còn
Cây Phượng đỏ
Vẫn đỏ mắt
Chờ ai.

Ta vô tình
Bước vào lối cũ
Bỗng thấy mình
Nhỏ bé
Trước ngôi trường
Ngày xưa./.

 KỶ NIỆM BẾN SÔNG XƯA

van nghe khoa 41
Chiều bên này nỗi nhớ,
Bến sông kia đợi chờ,
Lớp mưa xuân bụi mờ
 Xua hình ai bơ vơ,

Nhớ lại thuở xưa,
Con thuyền đứng bến,
Ziữa đêm thanh vắng
Còn vang tiếng: Đò ơi.

Và những đêm mưa giông,
Vẫn còn nghe tiếng gọi,
Con thuyền vội cập bến,
Đưa người khách qua sông.

Còn những buổi đêm đông,
Gió mùa hun hút thổi,
Bàn tay như lạnh cóng,
Thuyền vẫn lặng lẽ qua sông….

Bóng Em liêu xiêu,
Trên nền trời tối sẫm,
Kẽo kẹt khua mái chèo,
Ước, có cây cầu qua sông….

Rồi một buổi sớm mai,
Những đoàn quân tấp nập,
Tập kết hai bên bờ,
Cho cây cầu bắc qua.

Công trường ngày rộn rã,
Tiếng máy nổ vang ròn,
Những đội quân chuyên cần
Cho cây cầu sang ngang,

Nhớ từng bát chè xanh,
Trong ngày hè nắng rát
Có lấp lánh Ánh mắt ai ,
Giữa trời xanh, xanh ngắt.

Nhớ những buổi đêm đông,
Ấm lòng bên bếp lửa,
Củ sắn lùi thơm ngát,
Như tấm lòng ai trao.

Đến hôm nay
Một cây cầu hiên ngang,
Nối đôi bờ nỗi nhớ
Chỉ có con đò nhỏ
Cũng rẽ lối sang ngang./.
